Preliminary task

{ Saturday, 19 December 2009 }

This production was created by Marina, Charlotte, Niamh and myself which we created for the preliminary coursework task. this preliminary task consisted of continuity and fluency in filming. It questioned whether we would make a consious effort regarding the continuity of location of the film and the fluency between different shots and how they had been edited together.

The brief specified that we must show a character opening a door, meeting another character, and exchanging a few lines of dialogue. Whilst doing all of these things, we also had to demonstrate the media techniques of 'match on action' and 'shot/reverse shot', whilst acknowledging and complying to the '180 degree rule'. We brainstormed several ideas and thought about the way they would look once filmed and the way we could convince the audience about the story with the lack of resources and time we had to prepare. We came to a group desicion that we would create our film about the loss of a girls fish and her reaction when she finds out it has passed away.

We feel as a group that we completed the task to the best of our ability however we feel that the sound could have been a little better as the diaolgue in some places is not as clear. When showed to the rest of our classmates we recieved positive feed back however they also agreed that our sound could have been improved.
