Number of still frames: 130+
After researching into opening credits, I understand that they are the most important parts of a film as they engage the viewer in the film and they show what kind of movie they will be watching. I have used several still frames for the opening credits of objects moving around my bed as it shows that this movie will be a stop motion. To make a smooth transition between the images of the bed and the words, I have blurred the image with my camera and have put a dissolve in using 'Final Cut Pro'. I am quiet happy with my opening credits and feel that they show a real atmosphere for what my film will be like. I will soon be uploading a rough cut of my film minus the parts with the character in as I am filming at the weekend. This will give me an idea on how much I need to edit in the film, roughly how long it will last and how everything will fit together. After the weekend I will then edit in the parts of the film that include the character and write up another analysis of how that filming and editing went.
I am also now contemplating refilming the top moving across the floor again as the room has now changed and the continuity will not be the same. I will for the time being, in my rough cut, edit the part that I have already filmed into the film as it will give me an indication of time and smoothness with transitions.
Shooting schedules

These shooting shedules shows the parts of the film that I will be shooting with the character included. There are two filming sessions on different days. I have had to space the time out for filming over the weekend periods because I need daytime lighting and during the week I am at school and Lex is at work. This is fine howeever because I have to edit all the sections of the film inbetween during the week without getting overwhelmed with photographs and things going wrong. Even though the weather may change throughout the week, I am able to set my camera to create the same lighting as the time before, as it is a still digital camera as apposed to a video recorder that does not have a variable apeture or ISO setting.
Storyboard of opening credits

This is the storyboard of my opening credits. It was to help me work out how I am going to get everything to move around and work properly. I have used the same clothes and the same gloves that I was planning to and I am still using paper with the words printed on it. I have however added in lots more frames of the clothes moving around the bed and instead of having the gloves dragging on the pieces of paper, I am having them overlapping and moving out of the way of the words so you can see them. I have unfocused everything at the beginning so when I add a transition in, the blend together smoother. I also no longer have the last frame on this storyboard. Instead, I am going to have the title against a black background so it is easier to read.
Titles and music
I am beginning to look into the music I will be using for my film. After thourough searching I have found a song by Leslie Hunt that is copy right free and I feel that it will be suitable in my film. I think that this will suit my film as it is quiet fast, upbeat and when I tried playing over parts of my films it went well together. I am not having any dialogue in my film so a fast song that has a good beat is very important. For the opening credits in my film, I need to show what kind of film this is going to be so I am going to also use stop motion for this section. I will film the titles crediting myself, the actor and the music in a font that will demonstrate to the viewer what kind of film this is. I have looked on serveral sites but have found http://www.dafont.com/ to be the best website for the type of fonts I am looking for.
Screenplay

This is the screenplay for my film. Although there is only one line of dialogue for the character, it also helps me and them establish where they and I am supposed to be in each shot. I have written the location of each shot, whether it is inside or outside, where I will be standing to shoot each frame and what happens in each scene. I have also added the sound effect for each clip however I am now considering changing this to music. I have chose to call my film 'Un Autre Jour' as it means 'another day' in French. I chose to make the title French as it makes it more intersting and maybe will encourage people to look into the film, have more interest and see what it is about.
Re-edits
I had planned on my next filming schedule that I would be filming yesterday (Thursday 4th). I did not manage to do this however as it was a miserable day and the lighting in the room made it not possible to film properly. As it is a little lighter out today, I thought I would film the re-edit of the top moving out of the wardrobe as there were mistakes in the previous one. I am now happy with this part of the film and feel that it was a much greater success. There is a clip where the camera jumps from one shot too another. I feel that this was the easiest way to show the clothes moving along the floor as in the last attempt it did not look right moving the camera at the same time as the jumper. This is now made up of 29 still frames at a rate of 9 frames per second.
I will later attempt to film the trousers coming out of the wardrobe and maybe the close up zoom in of the bag by the desk which is what was planned on my filming schedule from yesterday. I hope that these will also be a success and that the filming for my opening sequence will go smoothly.
First shooting session
Date: 1st February 2010
Began filming at: 9.20am
Part of film: Top moving out of wardrobe and across floor
Made up of: 22 still frames
Today i shot the first part of my film. I feel that the part in which the top began moving out of the wardrobe was a success however I feel that I need to re-film the part where the jumper is moving across the floor. I think that I need to re-film this as when the clothes move along the floor, I need to pan the camera with the top however in the film I have just done it came out slightly jerky as I had to tighten the tripod each time I moved the top to stop it from slipping. I am going to use someone to assist me in the moving of the clothes so I can hold the tripod loosley and be able to pan downwards.Although I am very happy with the movement of the jumper moving off the hanger, I now realise I have to refilm the entire scene because of the bed covers and the post-it note which is on the bed which is no longer there which will ruin the contiuity if when I later film, there are bed covers there.
Date: 1st February 2010
Began filming at: 1.20pm
Part of film: shoes moving across the floor in hallway
Made up of: 19 still frames
This is another part of my film that is on my shooting schedule and I managed to complete. I feel that this part went well as it is a very smooth movement as the shoes are shuffling across the floor. I like the warm lighting that this scene has. I have not changed any part of my storyboard to create this and feel that it was a great success. I was not disturbed at any point and this was not a very hard part of the film to film. I think that th movement of the shoes is somewhat realistic to how they would move if they were on people.
Date: 1st February 2010
Part of film: very beggining where curtains open byt themselves
Made up of: 10 still frames
These are the very beggining shots of my film. There are what will open my film after the opening credits so they have to be impressive. This took longer to make then I had palnned on my filming schedule however I feel that the slightly off centred angles add more of a natural look to the shot. I like the way the lighting is made pink by the curtains. I feel that this scene is quiet a success as the jerky moves make it obviously stop motion however I am unsure if it would be better if the movements where more subtle. I may refilm this if I feel that once the rest of my film has been put together that it doesnt suit or fit in with the rest of the movements in the opening sequence. I did not have to make any changes to my storyboard for this section of the filming as it was my first part of the sequence, does not include any characters and was quiet easy to get the lighting how I wanted. I was originally quiet worried that the camera would not take well to the dark lighting however I think that it has worked well.
